On my 11th birthday I had a huge party, tons of people and
family members gathered around in my cozy home to celebrate another year of
having a crazy creative annoying little girl running around singing to which
ever tune the radio would play. For the longest time I always wanted a My size sugar plum princess Barbie. Receiving
gifts was something I liked the most about birthdays of mines , besides cake
and friends spend the night after ward and I would just watch throughout the
day how big the piles of gifts got and how pretty the wrappings were , but on
this specific birthday I got this huge pink box with a bow ... I couldn’t wait to open it in hopes someone
was going to make my life complete with this doll... when the candles were
blown out and cake was cut I started to adventure through the piles of gifts
and I picked up the biggest box with the bow . Now before in continue I just
want to share the only reason I picked this present to open first was because
it was the biggest and look the best from the rest and to top it the box had a
big white bow. Shredding the wrapping on the present to the floor I finally
reached the opening and when I opened the box it wasn’t my doll, but scooter....
My cousin’s OLD scooter (I eventually stopped hating my uncle).
Growing up i learned that “everything that glitters isn’t
gold” ... My mom would always say and
just because that box was what seemed amazing to me wasn’t what I’d hoped for.
From this lesson I learned that sometimes our outer appearances
can be deceptive and mainly it is what is on the inside that attracts people.
